Connect Instagram

To post for you, we need your permission. Here's exactly what happens:

1. You authorize us below.
2. We text and email you a secure link. Tap it, then connect your accounts - you approve on the platform's own page, and we never see your password.
3. Once it's connected, we post your approved videos automatically.

First: set up the accounts we post to

Two things have to be true before anything can be posted for you: both of your Meta accounts have to be set up for business rather than personal use. On Instagram that is a Professional account. On Facebook it is Professional mode on your profile, and then the Page you are an admin of. Both are free and take a couple of minutes each.

Instagram: switch to a Professional account

Instagram only allows automation and posting on Professional accounts (Business or Creator). This is required before we connect your account here or run Social Autopilot. It's free, takes about 2 minutes, and you can switch back any time.

1. Open the Instagram app, go to your profile, and tap the menu (☰) → Settings and privacy.
2. Find Account type and tools (sometimes shown under "For professionals"), then tap Switch to professional account.
3. Choose a category, then pick Business (best for most local businesses) or Creator, and tap Next.
4. When prompted, connect your Facebook Page - this is needed for full automation. No Page yet? Create a free one first; Instagram's business tools connect through it.

Facebook: turn on Professional mode, then connect your Page

Facebook works the same way as Instagram - the account has to be set up for business. It is two steps, in this order: switch your own profile to Professional mode, then connect the Page you are an admin of. Facebook will not let you connect a Page to a tool like ours until your profile is in Professional mode, and Meta only gives posting tools access to Pages - so the Page is what we post to. It is also the Page your Instagram Professional account links through, so doing this sorts both.

Professional mode is a free switch on your own Facebook profile, and it is step one here - until it is on, Facebook will not let you connect your Page to us. It also gives you followers, insights and creator tools, and it is what our DM and comment helpers need. Your profile still looks the same to your friends. Then add the Page, which takes about two minutes.

1. On your Facebook profile, open the three-dot menu under your name and choose Turn on professional mode. It is free and takes a few taps.
2. No Page yet? On Facebook go to Pages → Create new Page, give it your business name and category, and publish it. It is free.
3. Check you are an admin: open the Page, then Settings → Page access. Your own profile should be there with full control.
4. Be signed in to that same Facebook profile in this browser before you connect. Connecting from a different profile is the usual reason a Page never shows up in the list.
5. When the connect screen asks, leave the content and insights permissions switched on. We need the first to post for you and the second to report your reach.
6. In the Instagram app, check your Professional account is linked to this Page: profile → Edit profile → Page.
